Western River Expeditions' Rafts

Ride big whitewater on western's patented J-rig raft

Bigger rapids demand bigger rafts, such as Western's patented J-Rig. Where the Colorado River carves through Cataract Canyon earlier in the summer and on our Grand Canyon 3 Day, Grand Canyon 4 Day and Grand Canyon 6 Day trips, J-Rigs are the vessel of choice for maximum excitement and safety. Environmentally friendly, quiet 4-stroke motors power these rugged rafts specially built for Western.

Experience whitewater fun in a rowboat

Western matches its boats to the challenges of its rivers. On the Green River, Westwater, Salmon River, and Cataract (later in the summer) and half to 2-day Colorado River trips, guides adeptly maneuver five-passenger rowboats. These specially designed boats are "self-bailing" which means that you'll never touch a bail bucket, except for an impromptu water fight!

Join the camaraderie of a paddleboat

On select Green River, Westwater, and Cataract, Main Salmon, Middle Fork Salmon, and half to 2-day Colorado River trips trips*, you can join the spirited crew of a paddleboat with your group or some of your new friends. When you're ready to kick back and relax, simply return to your rowboat, stretch out in the sun, and let the guide do the work. *Depending on water levels.
