Gear on the River

Dry Bag
Upon arrival to the river’s edge, you will be provided a water-resistant day bag (approximately 6” x 12”). In this day bag, you will want to put those items you wish to access during the day (raingear, camera, medications, sun block, lip balm, river guidebook, etc). We recommend packing these items in a simple plastic grocery sack inside your duffle for easy transfer to your day bag at the launch site.

General

  • Cash for gratuities. Your guides will make every effort to see that each of your adventures is enjoyable and successful. Gratuities for guides are appropriate, greatly appreciated and at your discretion, as a gesture of thanks for their professionalism and service. As guides for each activity will likely differ, you’ll want to take some cash on each of the trips. A suggested per-person guideline is between $5 and $15 for Hummer and Horseback tours and $10 to $25 on the rafting trip. The common practice is to give the gratuity to the guide at the end of the trip. In trips where multiple guides have participated, the gratuity will be split amongst all of them.

Erik, Anthony, and Reese were awesome guides. This was such an adventure! The scenery and the rapids were amazing. My family will never forget it. Especially 13-yr old Krystal! We can’t wait to see some photos. And we’ll surely be back again.”
