Green River Vacations

Saddles & Paddles Itinerary

DAY 1 » Anytime after 3:00 PM, you'll check into Red Cliffs Lodge in the heart of famous Castle Valley. Take the evening to relax by the pool, unwind with a book on your own private patio, or explore the Movie History Museum. Treasure a sunset dining experience on the Red Cliffs deck overlooking the Colorado River then turn in for a restful night in your comfortable room. (Dinner voucher provided upon check-in.)

DAY 2 » Savor a morning and afternoon at Red Cliffs Lodge or explore the Moab area. Rent a Jeep, enjoy a lakeside picnic lunch high in the La Sal Mountains (box lunch included), or discover the wonders of Arches National Park. Red Cliffs Lodge offers horseback riding (not included) where you'll ride amidst 2,000-foot desert cliffs on trails made famous by John Wayne himself. Early in the evening, you'll meet at Western's Moab Adventure Center for a group dinner. Following dinner, you'll experience one of Moab’s most renowned adventures – an off-road Hummer Safari at sunset where 360-degree views of sweeping red rock landscapes will take your breath away.

Day 3 » In the morning after a final night at Red Cliffs Lodge, you’ll experience a spectacular scenic flight soaring over the beautiful canyons of the Green River to where your guides and rafts anxiously await. The next 4 or 5 days of your adventure will be nothing short of spectacular. Immediately after launching your raft onto the Green River, the walls of Desolation Canyon shoot skyward and you leave the world behind.

Day 4 or 5 » As you wind through a remarkable wilderness of dramatic cliffs and twisted mountains carved by an ancient inland sea, you’ll stop often to explore Utah’s famous outlaw hideouts and Native American petroglyphs. You’ll discover the thrill of Green River whitewater. Each night you’ll dine on delicious meals prepared by your guides while you relax at the river’s edge. You’ll camp on comfortable cots under a blanket of innumerable stars. And when it’s all over, you’ll return home with unbelievable tales of adventure.

“I had a great time on this trip! I would recommend this trip to anyone. The guides were unbelievable, they made the trip even better. Their knowledge of the river and the canyons were second to none. I expected to have a good time on the trip, and my expectations were met tenfold.”
