Itinerary

DAY 1 » Meet in Las Vegas at 11:15 AM in the lobby of the Desert Rose Hotel. A motor coach will take you to the North Las Vegas Airport. Begin your Grand Canyon tour with a beautiful flight from Las Vegas to Bar 10 Ranch. Before you start your three-day Grand Canyon river rafting adventure, you’ll enjoy an overnight stay at the Bar 10 Ranch, a working cattle ranch perched high on a plateau above the Colorado River. Your transition from civilization to wilderness includes horseback trail rides, horseshoes, ping pong, skeet
shooting, dinner and evening entertainment before settling into bed in the lodge, outdoors in a covered wagon, or outside on a spacious deck.

DAY 2 » After a big country breakfast, a helicopter takes you deep into Grand Canyon where your rafts and guides await. After orientation and introductions, you’ll be on your way downriver surrounded by soul-stirring scenery. Breathtaking canyon walls shoot skyward in a dramatic display of geologic history as you experience your first taste of Grand Canyon river rafting. Hold on for Kolb and Mile 209 Rapids!

DAY 3 » Our J-Rig rafts enter awesome Lower Granite Gorge with a series of moderate rapids including Granite Spring, Diamond Creek and Travertine. We take some time to hike, explore and play at Travertine Grotto, a fantastic series of hidden waterfalls and pools. Run the biggest rapids of your Grand Canyon river rafting trip, the “230’s.” After your day of adventure, you’ll savor Western’s delicious dinners at the river’s edge and appreciate the unforgettable experience of sleeping under the stars.

DAY 4 » As you near Lake Mead, the river calms and the canyon widens. Savor your final morning in Grand Canyon as you head down river and across Lake Mead on a jetboat to where a deluxe motor coach will be waiting to return you to Las Vegas. Your arrival time in Las Vegas will be approximately 3:00 PM.

Pre-Trip Travel Information

Meet in the lobby of the Desert Rose Resort, 5051 Duke Ellington Way, Las Vegas, NV at 11:15 AM for bus transfer to the North Las Vegas Airport and a one-hour flight to Bar 10 Ranch. Picture ID is required for all passengers 18 and older.

The Desert Rose Resort is located near the MGM Grand. For reservations call (800) 811-2450 and mention Western River or go online at www.desertroseresort.com and use group code “WEST2013.” Block space & rates are only guaranteed up to 30 days prior to trip departure, and are then offered only if hotel space is still available.

The Desert Rose Resort offers guests staying at their property free parking and baggage storage for $5 per bag. Luggage storage for guests not staying at Desert Rose is $15 per bag. A light continental breakfast is available for Desert Rose guests.

Post-Trip Travel Information

The return motor coach should arrive in Las Vegas at the Desert Rose Resort by 3:00 PM on the last day of your trip. Taxi service is available from the hotel to the airport. If you are flying out that same evening and want to clean up before your flight home, you can shower at the “24 Hour Fitness” athletic club located at the Las Vegas McCarran Airport in Terminal 1. They offer a one-time-use pass for about $10.00 and they ask you to provide a photo ID.
